Nintendo Switch weirdness

I think my Switch is starting to get old, or maybe the JoyCons just aren't built very well. Over the last year I've been having increasing issues with the JoyCons randomly disconnecting when I play handheld, causing the game to get taken over by the Switch UI asking me to reconnect them. Like, it was happening a lot when I was really into Isaac last year, and it's happening occasionally now that I'm playing Celeste on Switch a lot again.
Example:

It's hard to see what's going on behind the popup, but I'm currently playing 7-B in Celeste, which is a hard level, and I'm like 15 rooms deep into it. I also have a golden strawberry following me, meaning that if I take any damage, I get teleported back to the beginning of the level. I'm also being flung at a wall of spikes, and the popup appeared right as I was about to dash down and cancel my momentum.
So, obviously, I mash A through the popup, the game tries to do some lag compensation because it doesn't know what just happened, and I immediately die without the chance to dash down.
This is actually the second time it's happened in this exact place.
The golden berry challenges are quite tough and I sort of think I should be doing them on my computer at this point, since the Switch is being unreliable, but all of the berries I've already gotten are on my Switch. It would not be trivial to get them again on PC; that's the whole point lol. So maybe I just need to get new JoyCons? Theoretically the Switch 2 could fare better but who knows how that's going to feel (or if I'll ever be able to get one).
Side note: getting that image into this post was pretty amusing. I screenshotted it on my Switch, then used the built-in functionality to send it to my phone via QR code. Then I sent it to myself on Discord, downloaded it on my computer, and uploaded it to Imgur. Simple!
