Null And

I've been working on this game for a little bit now, and it's getting close to the finish line! It's called NULL AND, and it's about trauma. And grief. And throwing things in a pit.

It's a 3D walkaround game and there's a handful of puzzles to solve, as well as a handful of strange environments to walk around. I'm trying not to get too bogged down on little details now that I've got the scope under control. I actually started work on this in like August and got stuck for like six months and then started on it again. The funny thing is that this was supposed to be a little project that I could work on while stuck on I Will Redirect!

For now, it might be nice to have a thread that I could post little updates in, to help motivate me to work on it. And then at some point maybe we could do some beta testing, if anyone was interested!

Tooth destroyed my Hell Hallway, it's not fair...........

I figured out a way to make it less susceptible to British shenanigans! But I'm still not 100% satisfied with it. I want to make it longer but it's so tedious to move stuff around in Godot's gridmaps. Gridmaps really suck for level design. Lingo uses them and that's why I have some familiarity with them, and also there's no other built-in tool for rapid 3D level design, but like. Ugh.

Soooooo it's been a while but I've made a lot of progress on this game! In fact, it can be played to completion now! I'm sure there are bugs and optimizations and design tweaks that need to be made, and also I'm still missing music for an area. But the main puzzles and areas are done. And I was kind of wondering whether anyone would be interested in playtesting a sadboy game about grief.

Content warnings: darkness, isolation, themes of trauma and grief, mentioned self harm, mentioned medication, one brief instance of camera shaking. I'm curious as to whether the game is just a game or whether it does an adequate job of speaking to my feelings.

I'd be interested in playing! It's pretty short, right? I am not good at playing games for long periods of time, but I would love to see what you've made

It's fairly short! Technically beatable in 20 minutes, although that's if you already know every puzzle solution and know where to go haha. There's 10 "levels", some of which are easy and some of which are a little more confusing and which might need additional hints. I can DM you!
