Let's write a TAU fic together, one paragraph at a time! If you're writing dialogue, you may (but do not need to) write up to 3 paragraphs, if they're short. You can feel free to utterly change the tone and the direction at a moment's notice. It's not supposed to be a masterpiece, just a fun game to play together. Let's go!

Alcor stared solemnly through the hole in the stained glass window. He'd seen this scene so many times before, and every time hit him like a baseball bat. The people out there had no idea what was about to happen to them, and it was all his fault. He clutched the soul he'd just gotten in his hand -- felt it warp, felt the cracks spread across the surface like a skate on a frozen pond -- and wondered for the millionth time if it was really worth it.

The cracks of the soul shattered, and the inner soul touched his being, crackling energy buzzing under the skin he didn't really have. It filled him, joyous tingles dancing through him like too much candy in the stomach of an excited child. It felt wonderful. It felt like getting caught in a summer rainstorm, cool water cutting through the unbearable stifling heat. He felt limitless. He was limitless. His hands vibrated in a little joyful dance. Fire sprouted up around him, elated explosions of pure power. His awareness spread, he could feel every little living thing who touched the mindscape, worms and beetles and humans and rabbits and ants and squirrels and cats and spiders and so much more beyond, each one a little bundle of energy, so vivid so alive so real! He could feel the growing sense of unease and fear clouding the local mindscape and he laughed. They could tell something was happening, but they were so closed off and small that it made them afraid. They couldn't see how beautiful it is. How incredible it all is.

Of course it was worth it. How could this ever not be worth it?

He didn't hear her calling his name. Why would he? For one, glorious moment, there was no contradiction in the creature he'd become; no past to mourn, no petty human morals to cling to, no family... no sister. The demon feasted on a soul.

Then the bat came swinging down.
