Okay! After listening to this album for another week, here's my current rankings:

BEST: Princess of Power, Cuntissimo, Final Boss
AWESOME: Butterfly, Cupid's Girl, Je Ne Sais Quois, Everybody Knows I'm Sad, I <3 You
GREAT: Metallic Stallion, Digital Fantasy, Hello Kitty
GOOD: Rollercoaster, Adult Girl

There are no bad songs on this album! I like them all, there's just some I like more than others. And honestly I think both Rollercoaster and Adult Girl are probably better than I even think they are, but they're both sandwiched between some absolute powerhouses of songs, so like when Rollercoaster comes on I'm still singing Cuntissimo in my head lol. I kind of love that both the first and last songs on the album are two of my favorite ones on there! I'm just so glad, this feels like a great return to form for Marina. So excited to see her live.

It's neat that read your thoughts!!! Adult Girl and Rollercoaster are actually the ones I get really emotional over.

OBVI Cuntisimo and Princess of Power are kind of un-paralleled bops though!!!

I kind of figured you really liked those actually! And like I DO like them, I just think maybe Rollercoaster should have not been in between Cuntissimo and Cupid's Girl lol. Maybe I should reorder them in my playlist and then I'll get into it more! Because they def are beautiful songs.

(/ω＼) I think musically they are not as layered as most of the other songs on the album and I actually didn't give rollercoaster a second thought on my first listen. But! I think the melancholy of rollercoaster about feeling like the joy of being yourself is always fallowed by some kind of punishment really hits. And adult girl feels like a sequel to teen idol in a way that really gets me.

I think I may e wouldn't have liked these songs as much if I wasn't Going Through ItTM rn, but here we are \ o /

Something I really love about Adult Girl is that in literally the first line she mentions letting go of "the flower". It makes me think of Bad Kidz (EXTREMELY TOP TIER SECRET MARINA SONG, the one that I clipped out the microphone singing at karaoke that time lol although I think you weren't there for that one) where she says "if you gave us a flower, we'd sit and we'd water it" and "If I became a pretty flower, would you sit and talk to me?" There's this symbolism with her and flowers being this kind of beautiful thing that is used to control her. Bad Kidz is about being abused in your youth and being blamed for it. In Adult Girl she's asserting that she is grown up now, she can't be controlled, but that stuff still harmed her. She's an Adult who is still a Girl. I feel that so much.

Ah I didn't think of that! Ty for showing me Bad Kidz it's so good T 0 T. Yeah and I think it's really profound to be like I'm giving up on this ideal that was once had, but you are still left with the longing for it :'(
