Good morning*!

How are you playing OoT? I'd rather like to play Majora's mask - I started it years ago and never finished it - but I have no idea where I could find it. Well, there's a version on the switch that you can get if you have a subscription to nintendos premium service, but I don't want to buy a subscription to a service I would use to play one game and do nothing else. Let me buy the fucking game once, please.

In retrospect it occurs to me that I think you have that subscription and are likely playing it through that lol.

Regardless, yeah, it's a fun game! Mind you, I like BotW and TotK, but they're completely different games to me then the rest of Zelda. 100% different genre, enjoyable for very different reasons (I get to explore and gather so many items is the reason I don't give a single fuck about the plot). You should also try Twilight Princess, that was my first Zelda game and I think it's quite good. Or at least, I did back in highschool. It's been a hot minute.

*in spirit, if not by the actual time of day

I'm actually playing the 3DS version! There's one for Majora's Mask too. I think it's a pretty good remaster and the controls are very good. I don't have the NSO extended pass thing haha. Another friend of mine did say I would love Twilight Princess! But-- am I thinking of something different or does Link turn into a wolf in that game?

Oh right yeah that's kinda the major thing of that game. Yeah, maybe stay clear of that game.

Good morning! (...to someone in a different timezone, anyway.) And Happy New Year!

I think one of my New Years resolutions is going to be to post more, or at least be more active on the fourm, and NOT keep forgetting it exists for weeks at a time ;_; so here's the first post in accordance to that resolution. I think a goal of a post a week at minimum with actually aiming for multiple is probably reasonable given the swiss cheese that is my memory some days? We'll see how it goes.

New Year's Eve sure did happen! It's been odd because the last couple years, a lot of my....festive spirit, for lack of a better phrase, hasn't really been there. The holidays are happening and I'm just kinda apathetic about it on the day-of. Especially when I haven't been going to any events on the holidays - no Halloween parties, or New Year's Eve parties or ball-drops or whatever. But it isn't a bad thing necessarily to have a quiet holiday, and I got to hang out with some friends online on NYE, and drank probably too much mead in one go, so it worked out in a quiet but good sort of way. Good way to ring in the new year: mead and friends and watching some fireworks and drawing some silly things to bring people joy. I'm happy with that.

On the previous topic  I hear so much about the LoZ games from y'all and a lot of it is positive. I should try to figure out how to play some of them, one of these days...maybe will go track down an emulator at some point....that'd be fun, I think.

Happy New Year!
Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! What am I supposed to do with these?! Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give CAVE JOHNSON lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN! WITH THE LEMONS!!!! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that BURNS YOUR HOUSE DOWN!!!

I can hook you up with the best way to play Link's Awakening :smugne:

Yay forum posting! I would like to post more often again too, and write more blog posts. And create more art. And open my heart. Stuff like that.

I generally have a lot of holiday spirit bc I spend the holidays with family and there's fun stuff we do, but also it can be pretty stressful and overwhelming! So I'm also kind of looking forward to a bit of a return to normalcy next week. ALTHOUGH I am gonna be going to GDQ so that's gonna be positively abnormal.

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful year even if the ushering in was meh! Let's make this a great year for friendship!! <- I'm a cartoon character

Good morning!

It's the new year, and that means that remote work is ending for me until summer. Not thrilled about having to go to the office every day, especially since I've been super tired recently. I've been sleeping so fucking much. It's a bit of a problem.

Then again, maybe being forced to get up after eight hours will help? Sleep levels are weird.

Weirdly enough, I'm kinda looking forward to the commute. Having a daily bus ride really helps me actually read books, and I've started a very interesting book, The Art of Not Being Governed: An Anarchist History of Upland Southeast Asia by James C. Scott, which is a book about people in Southeast Asia who historically lived outside of the reach of any state, generally in mountains, swamps, and other unfavorable terrain.

It's been very interesting so far, and it talks about the Hmong, an ethnic group that is, to my limited understanding, fairly common in the Twin Cities where I am and not really common most anywhere else in the USA save a few other small pockets. I'm pretty interested in getting more historical context for them - until somewhat recently I assumed they were a fairly major East Asian ethnic group and was rather surprised to learn they really aren't, so I'm excited to get more historical context about them.

The book is very much a history; most of the limitations of State reach it focuses on have been largely eliminated in the past century do to technological changes, but it's a very nice historical perspective considering the vast majority of historical things I encounter focus elusively on the perspective of states, despite most people historically living outside state control. I've already read a book by the same author about how and why states first started to form, and I'm excited to see where he's going with this.

Good time of day!

I made a website! Again. I already had one but the amount of effort it took to update it was to damn high, so I never did. This one uses 11ty, a very straight forward static site generator, and is hosted using neocities rather then me having my own web server for a static site. I'm hopeful that I'll actually do things with this!

Yesssssssss a website!! Sweet! I hope you have fun working on it! I have a request, if I may -- I dunno whether this is possible with your templating engine but when you get your blog up and running could you make an RSS/Atom feed? I wanna subscribe to you!

I know it's absolutely possible to do, and looking at the docs it should be pretty simple. I'll fuck with it once I get home and see what it looks like in practice!
