Good morning!
I'm running some load tests on some web code that we recently rewrote. And. I'm kinda wondering why the fuck we're migrating off PHP. Like, the code sucked before, it was impossible to follow, but holy shit it preformed so well. Why didn't we just rewrite it in better written PHP? I cannot bring the site down when it's running the old code. I have 500 concurrent threads hitting the stage environment and it's just shrugging it off. The new django code starts throwing 502s when you have more then like. 105 threads.

Good afternoon! I just had a massage therapy session and that was nice. Today has been okay bc I've been getting some work done as well as some Lingo 2 mapping. I'm up to 70 mons in my dex in my new Pokemon Violet save already somehow?? I think that, despite the catching mechanics not being quite as good as PLA, it's just as fun because of the higher diversity of mons to catch.

Good afternoon!
My day has been spent mostly: teaching about biology (this week we're covering properties of water and of carbon re: holding life together by the seams), dinking around on my old writing documents to kill time, fistfighting the virtual manifestation of the website that hosts our online homework by being a piece of crap that tries to squeeze money out of students unnecessarily (Pearson Learning (derogatory)), and scrolling through pages of this web forum that I either forgot or never knew existed in the first place. (Like the music thread...I should go dig back through my old music tastes but i fear it's not as interesting as some of y'all's.)
Going to go out later with roommate and grab dinner at the. Well if I say it's the local Gas Station(TM) then it sounds weird. But it's hard to explain Buc-ee's to anyone who hasn't actually been to one? So we'll say it's the local BBQ store/gas station/Texan Experience. Sure. Why not.

Congrats! Moving is such a big deal, I hope you can get settled in soon! Move those boxes from one place to another.
My day is going okay. I choked on water earlier at my desk which was embarrassing but my teammates said they thought I was laughing at something and not choking which is pretty funny. I've gotten some work done which is good. I also am in the office at all which is good. But I'm so sleepy I want to go home.

I also fucked up drinking water in the office today! I screwed the top of my water bottle on wrong and spilled a bunch of water on myself and the floor. No one saw though, so at least there's that.
