Well, we've already switched to the 5th layout. The fourth one didn't seem to last that long. Sorry about that. I'm just ever-trying to make the perfect design for Four Island. I'll probably continue to tweak at this design for a while.

Also, I know the commenting system is still disabled. I'm sorry. I'm just still trying to figure out a way to get around the vandalism on the Projects page because they shouldn't have been able to post anything at all anyway....... Oh poopsicles. An idea just struck. I'll let you know how it goes later.

EDIT: Okay, I was right. This is how the bots were posting comments.

Most bots do not understand disabled form field elements and apparently, the form validation page didn't actually check to see if the person was logged in. The only thing keeping out logged out people was the disabled submit button, but since bots bypass that....

It's been fixed now, so I've re-enabled the commenting system. YAY! Happy commenting! Now, tell me what you think about the new layout!

Happy Mother's Day! I love you mom! Thank you so much for all you've done for me!

In other news, I am working on a SSO implementation for Four Island, which will integrate pretty much everything even further than it already is. I will give you more news when it is available.

OK! Once again, this week I have quite a lot to talk to you peoples about! How about we start with Fouripedia!

Fouripedia is the new Four Island wiki! Yay! We'd like everyon who wants to to help contribute to this wiki! To be able to edit pages on the wiki, you must have an account on the fourm. Sorry about that, but it's just an extra security precaution, mixed with a minor convenience.

This week looks pretty interesting. We've got quite a lot of votes. I like how many people have chosen The Fourm! Thanks to everyone who voted! Unfortunately, this poll didn't included Fouripedia, but that's because it didn't exist yet. Here are the results:

Four Island - 2 vote(s)! The Fourm - 9 vote(s)! The Project Site - 0 vote(s)! Four Island Quotes DB - 0 vote(s)!

Speaking of the Projects site, I'd like to say something. Some people (unregistered, so I don't know how they managed to) have been posting links to porn on the projects page using the commenting system. I've deleted it all, but I've also disabled the commenting system temporarily because of this. I need to find and fix this security hole because we cannot have people hacking into Four Island and advertising porn. So, sorry for the inconvenience and I hope the commenting system is back up soon.

And to end off on a good note, Four Island has recently passed it's 5th milestone! 4444 hits! YAY! The reason this is so amazing is because the last milestone, 1337, happened pretty recently, specifically Valentine's Day!

Some fourm users have reported that the scroll bar or other scrolling functionality has vanished from Four Island. This is true. It is believed that the JavaScript used to generate the snow is somehow messing with users' ability to scroll. The JavaScript will disappear with the end of the party, generally 24 hours after the 4444th hit. However, the exact time of the milestone is not currently known.

Okay, today I have quite a lot to talk about. Why don't we start out with this week's POTW:

The poll this week..... was interesting. I never expected ANYONE to vote for Brain Damage, but to each his/her own.... Anyway, here are the results:

Brain Damage - 1 vote(s)! Myopia - 4 vote(s)! Diabetes - 3 vote(s)! Arthritis - 0 vote(s)!

Speaking of the POTW, because last week I was short on time, I didn't get to say this: That poll actually did have a purpose. I wore that shirt one day in public, and immediately got comments back. Some people wanted to buy it off of me, and some told me I looked like an idiot. Oh well.

Speaking of voting on things, as two days ago was the first of the month, the first ever QOTM (Quote of The Month) took place. And guess who won. Yep, it's good ol' #2. Look at if you like, it's pretty funny, but there are funnier ones. For instance, look at #30 and try to tell me that it's not funnier.

So remember peoples, get voting on quotes! There are already about 91 quotes up, and because #2's already won, it cannot win again. Can't wait to see the next winner!

Okay, to some exciting information! Well, peoples, as I'm sure you've noticed, Four Island is a little WHOLE LOT different! That's because I finally got tired of Layout 3, and we have finally moved to wonderful layout 4!

I hope this layout will be a wonderful one, not only because it's the FOURth layout, but also because everything is becoming more integrated. The Fourm and the Quotes DB have moved in now, and the Projects site is on it's way. Also, the header image at the top will be fun because it will be another thing I can change on holidays! (BTW, there is a holiday in 2 days!) So, let's all congratulate layout 4! Even though it's not COMPLETELY done yet, it will be soon.

And to end off, I'm hosting a new website. Say hello to "Colour Pencils" from Gryphic! Hello! I know, I know. It has U in it. Don't worry, it's driving me insane as well. But it's her blog, and while I can change it, that would be rude.

Well, thus ends a beautiful post! Can't wait to see the votes on this week's POTW, I am quote-happy (and a sugar-freak, according to Gryphic), the fourth layout's looking great, and I can't wait to see some content coming in on Gryphic's new blog!

Quote Time

We at Four Island are.... hyper.

I just wanted to let you know that before you saw this link. I just set up a QMS (Quote Management System), because of my strange obsession with quotes, and we've already collected some pretty funny ones. Just go here: http://quotes.fourisland.com for the Four Island Quotes.

Prepare to be scared. Or more likely, rolling on the floor laughing.

Thumbnail2The Fourm* is here.....

I've created a fourm for the website. You can go to it, register for free, and post what you want. Please, do so, PLEASE!!!!

Oops, sorry about that. But I'm really excited about The Fourm. Look at the above screenshot. Anyway, please go and try it! I bet it will be a wonderful way to converse and yes...

*NOTE: I am saying Fourm on purpose. On the Fourm, you are supposed to say Fourm not forum. (Four, get it?)

This week's poll was great. I don't really want to say much more, less you all run away thinking that a 'Feburary 22nd 2008' is going to happen again. So, without any further ado, and by the way, that's a very nice hairpiece, here are the result!

First - 0 vote(s)! Second - 0 vote(s)! Third (current) - 4 vote(s)! All/None/Don't Care/Don't Know - 1 vote(s)!

By the way, everyone, the holiday system has had a recent problem with the Easter-related holidays being a month too late. That's been fixed now, so you should be able to go on to trust the holiday system here at Four Island.

Hello again, everybody! I'm sorry for yet another downtime, but at least this one was only a week. Besides, great things have come of it! Yes, that's right people, Four Island now uses Linux!

Four Island was down for a week because, for the first 3 or 4 days, I was trying different types of Linux, Gentoo and Debian, both of which didn\'t support my network card. But then I tried Ubuntu, and it worked immediately! The next few days were spent moving every thing back to my computer from my memory stick.

I'm happy it worked, because Four Island will be much better with it. One last note, however, is that with the programs and games I release, I will now be releasing Linux versions too, because I happen to use Linux. Because of that, I'm going to have to A: Rewrite all of the currently up programs, and B: Rename Windows Games and Windows Programs to Downloadable Games and Downloadable Programs.

Oh yes, the poll, I nearly forgot about it! This week's poll didn't even last the full week because I was too busy installing Linux. Anyway, here are the results:

Four Island - 4 vote(s)! Kirby's Rainbow Resort - 0 vote(s)! Potter Puppet Pals - 0 vote(s)! Hackles - 0 vote(s)!

Hello KFM!

A few days ago I read the entire archives of a discontinued comic called Hackles. I loved it. I was so sad when I got to the end and found that it hadn't been updated since 2004. It was a comic I enjoyed tremendously, but I never even got to experience the "wait-for-next-strip-to-come-out" fever that you get with a good comic.

After all of this, I realized, "Hey, wait! I'm making a webcomic! I haven't updated in ages!". I know quite a few people like KFM, and I don't want the same thing to happen to it as it did to Hackles.

So I recently re-did the entire KFM section. It looks a whole lot better, and it now has an RSS feed so you can subscribe to the comic! I hope you all enjoy KFM, because I've only just realized that it actually meant something to other people.

Yes, people, it's finally true. I'm finally going to break down and display some minor advertisement. Not because I want/need money, but because the sites I will advertise are favorites of mine.

Take the current two I'm advertising. Hackles, the computer programming webcomic, and Kirby's Rainbow Resort, and utopia for those who know and love Kirby.

If you would like to have your link shown on this site, please send me an email the same way you always do, using the link on the HatBar.
