onDidn't you just love this week's random poll! The results weren't as good as some previous times, but there still were votes!
Kirby - 4 vote(s)! Spongebob - 2 vote(s)! Ditto - 2 vote(s)! Bulbasaur - 3 vote(s)!
Two other things. One, THREE MORE HITS UNTIL THE NEXT MILESTONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! And two, 2 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE NEXT HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!
onWell, I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! And now, some news. With the new Floppy Disk Drive I got for Christmas, development of Ohats can finally continue. That's the good news. The bad news is... as you should know, I'm currently on a vacation. And all of my source code is... at home. Well, of course it had to happen.
But, on the brighter side, it finally gives me time to make the Ohats Project page. But... hmmm... which section would it go into? It's certainly not Windows or Flash, it's not a challenge, and it's not really experimental... I know! I'll create its own category! After all, I'll have to release things FOR Ohats as well as the OS itself!
onHELLO EVERYONE! You all should know what today is! You don't? Of course you do! It's Christmas!!!!!!!!!!
Merry Christmas, and thank you all for being with Four Island so far! I'm sure I will merry this site up for the rest of the day! Chao for now!

onIf you are reading this, then either:
- I'm back from America already and you're reading this in the Updates Archive, or
- You're on Four Island and it's working!
HORRAY! I managed to get the UN and PW pretty easily, but the problem turned out to be that my relatives' ISP blocked port 80, just like my ISP blocked port 25 (see the post called MailChat!). I finally bypassed that with a port 80 redirect, but while I am in NY (hopefully only for this vacation), when you type in www.fourisland.com, it'll show up as an IP address. Note I said www.fourisland.com. Yes, for once you actually have to type in the www. Yahoo! doesn't allow the root domain to be a CNAME, so for right now let's stay content with the www subdomain.
I hope I can get this all sorted out.

Four Island is about lots of stuff. One of those things are computer programming. So here I am with a small CSS trick.
If you were to look to the at the links on this site, you'll see that any picture inside a link gets a dashed border around it when it is hovered over. That part is simple to do. All you need is some simple CSS:
a:hover img { border: dashed gray 1px; }But, if you try that, the content around the pictures will move around when you hover over the picture. The real trick is bypassing that. All you need is to have a transparent border there if the link is not being hovered over, and a dashed one if it is:
a img { border: solid transparent 1px; } a:hover img { border: dashed gray 1px; }Because the new border is transparent, you obviously can't see it. It barely makes an impact on your page, and allows a nice border on link mouse overs.
onWell, although I normally make it a rule not to post twice in one day, so as to allow people to actually READ the post, I realized that I needed to make this important announcement.
I am flying to New York in two days time. I am also bringing my laptop. That means that Four Island will be down for at least a day, and if I am unable to access the router login details at my relatives' house, it will also mean Four Island will be down for a month.
I give it a 50-50. 50% I'll get the UN and PW and Four Island will be back up, and half chance that I wont. Please keep your fingers crossed that I do, because I really don't like the idea of Four Island being down for a month, especially since I am hosting other sites, which will also be down, obviously, if Four Island goes down.
